Hey HN! We're happy to come here to announce MYME's pre-launch-induced-by-industry-news. While our full platform is set to launch in a few months, recent uncertainties around 23andMe ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43457666 ) have inspired us to offer early-access storage for your genetic data.
Our mission is simple: to give everyone a complete, accessible health record that helps healthcare professionals truly understand who you are and what works for you. We see your 23andme data as a vital part of this narrative, adding valuable context to your overall health story.
What is (or will be) this MYME? Simple! It is a health app designed to be your one-stop solution for managing your health. It will be the first solution made for the “patient” in the health tech space! You will own full control of your electronic health records (EHR). Think of MYME as your personal Data Lake for health data.
MYME was born after one of our founders was diagnosed with a chronic disease (and had to start keeping records of loads of health data) and his wife had to change the doctor that had been helping her treat her diabetes for more than 15 years. In both cases they needed detailed health records that were hard to get or downright non-existent or almost impossible to get (e.g.: a summary of more than a decade of consultations that were hand written). Those experiences showed how little control we have over our own health data, as well as how little of it is stored in a safe digital space.
Our platform will conform and exceed all regulations around personal data and health records. It will help you aggregate data from all places (e.g.: insurance, lab work, genetics, hereditary conditions, past and ongoing medication, etc) and then share with whom you trust (the doctor right in front of you during a consultation, for example). Our goal isn’t to sell your data but to harness its potential to improve care—all while ensuring it remains securely stored and entirely under your control.
